Treasure Box

A Writer’s Treasure Box
Props:
 
Pencils, colored pencils, ideas journal, thesaurus, paper, stationary, envelopes, rubber stamps, and expandable file.
Activities:
  • Research writers, write to a writer, or visit a writer.
  • Keep a list of “ideas” to write about in your ideas journal. Keep your journal with you at all times because you never know when a good story will enter your mind. 
  • Research types of writing; historical fiction, fantasy, traditional literature, realistic fiction, science fiction, information writing, biography, autobiography etc…
  • Read, read and read some more, great writer’s are great readers.
  • Write, write, and write some more. Write letters, write short stories, keep great opening lines, great endings, fantastic plots, interesting settings, characters that come to life, descriptive paragraphs etc…
