Animal Addition

Before Playing:

1. Run off the four sheets of Animal 10’s Frames.

2. Cut up the cards of giraffes and zebras.

Directions:

1. Take the empty 10 frame.

2. One person has the zebra cards and one person has the giraffe cards.

3. Zebra cards start. The person with the zebra cards put _____ cards on the ten frame. Then they ask, “How many giraffe cards do you need to fill the 10 frame?” Then the giraffe cards start and repeat the steps.

4. Another way to play. Put so many zebra or giraffe cards on and ask, “I want _____ total cards on the 10 frame. How many more zebra or giraffe cards will I need to make _____?”

5. Another way to play is to start with 5 zebras or giraffes on the board. How many more zebras or giraffes to make ______? (Each person has a 10’s Frame.)
